History has been made!
Hundreds of volunteers and 40 hockey players just fundraised $1.5 million for the Cure Cancer Foundation in Alberta while participating in the "World's Longest Game." The game, which began on Feb. 4 in Sherwood Park Alberta, has seen the players taking part in a continuous hockey game.
Now past 218 hours played, the group has made it their goal to stay on the ice for 252.
For those who don't know, the World's Longest Game started in 2003 as a way for Brent Saik to honour his father Terry, who died of cancer. Since then, eight different games have raised over $5.47 million to date.
This year, a West Kelowna resident took part in the game. Try Schaab was one of many BC hockey players doing their part to break the Guinness World Record set in 2018.
