St Louis Blues end 52-year wait for Stanley Cup with victory over Boston Bruins

The St. Louis Blues have won the Stanley Cup for the first time in their 52-year history.

They beat the Boston Bruins 4–1 in Game 7 of the competition at the TD Garden in Boston tonight.

The Blues won the game courtesy of goals by Jay Bouwmeester, Alex Pietrangelo, Brayden Schenn and Zach Sanford.

They ended their team’s status as the oldest in the league never to have won the Stanley Cup.

Boston got a consolation goal in the third thanks to Matthew Grzelcyk, but by then it was already over.

The Blues reached the final after beating the Dallas Stars in seven games and then the San Jose Sharks in six.
