Canadians are showing well so far at the first major of the 2019 tennis season.
All four of them advanced to round two of the tournament on Monday or Tuesday, including the country’s newest teenage sensation, Bianca Andreescu.

The 18-year-old Mississauga native needed almost three hours to knock off Whitney Osuigwe of the United States on Monday, but got the job done 7-6 (1), 6-7, 6-3.
Joining her in round two of the women’s draw was Eugenie Bouchard, who cruised to a straight sets win over Peng Shuai of China.
On the men’s side, Denis Shapovalov also knocked off his opponent, Pablo Andujar of Spain, in straight sets.
Finally, the country’s top ranked player is No. 17 seed Milos Raonic who took on a familiar foe in Australia’s Nick Kyrgios.
Like Bouchard and Shapovalov, Raonic only needed straight sets to advanced to round two, taking out Kyrgios 6-4, 7-6 (5), 6-4.
Eugenie Bouchard now has a tough test ahead of her, as she takes on Serena Williams, while Andreescu has No. 13 seed Anastasija Sevastova up next.
