Aquarium in Sidney issues plea for the return of porpoise skull

The aquarium in Sidney is missing an important part of their exhibit, and are asking that it be returned.

The Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea made a public plea for the return of a missing artifact.

A post shared by Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea (@salishseacentre)

“It may have been a little weathered, a bit beat up, but it was ours,” they said in an Instagram post.

“And it was displayed for everyone to experience and learn from. Someone, however, thought it may be better featured in their private collection?”

The aquarium identified the missing item as a porpoise skull — an item that they can’t just buy off Amazon.

“Though we wouldn’t try, we’d shop local!” they added.

The aquarium said that they would appreciate its return, no questions asked.
