When renovating or building, selecting the perfect tile may seem like the hard part, but it can actually be finding the perfect grout colour to compliment the tile that can be the most challenging.
Those little lines between the tile can either create a backdrop or become a focal point of the room.
Grout companies make colour charts or samples to help select the grout that’s right for your project. Lay the grout on the tile to select the right colour tone; warm tones with warm tiles, cool tones with cool tiles.
Selecting a grout that is similar to the tile colour will unify the overall look without creating too much drama. Going this route typically gives a clean, sophisticated, modern design.
If you have a geometric tile, want to draw attention to the tile, or like a bit more of a traditional look, use a contrasting colour to outline the tile and bring your design to life.
