Last year I met a lovely young family who wanted help redecorating and adding a few built-in pieces to their main floor.
Their house had great bones to start with and with an open concept, they needed someone to guide them in picking out the right furniture and accessories brighten the space up and give it a cohesive look.
They have three little ones so storage was a must, they also wanted to lower a pony wall, which was dividing the room up too much, and add in a window seat.
My clients wanted a bit of an eclectic and boho vibe that was neutral and timeless, as well as functional.
We went with a custom light grey, linen looking sofa with a good quality fabric that is easy to wipe clean, which is a must with lots of little fingers!
We selected three vintage rugs and only one was actually used as a rug.
The ottoman was custom built from one of them (and yes, it has a lifting lid for extra storage.)
The other rug was upholstered into a window seat for the custom bench from Castello Custom Cabinets, with you guessed it, built-in drawers for more storage! Castello Custom also lowered the pony wall to open the kitchen up a bit more to the living room.
My clients did a great job sourcing the leather chairs, end tables and bar stools. Keeping the accessories light and neutral with lots of different textures and patterns were the finishing touches to add to the already cozy and eclectic space.
Thanks to the talented Jon Adrian Photography for capturing the space so flawlessly; such great memories for the family to enjoy for years to come!
