(UPDATE: Nov. 27 @ 2:45 pm) - The earlier "vehicle incident" on the Coquihalla Highway (Hwy 5) has now been cleared.
Traffic is once again flowing smoothly on the mountain pass and conditions look fine for anyone with the appropriate tires.
DriveBC has not provided any further information regarding the nature of the incident that slowed traffic.
(Original story: Nov. 27 @ 1:55 pm) - Anyone travelling from the Thompson-Okanagan to the Lower Mainland this afternoon might experience some delays on the Coquihalla Highway (Hwy 5).

Crews en route. Expect delays.
Drive with care.#HopeBC #MerrittBC
However, highway webcams show that the significant delays are actually southbound and closer to the summit, right around Coquihalla Lakes.
It’s unknown whether this is a new incident or if DriveBC’s initial tweet regarding the incident was incorrect.
Whatever the case, there are definitely significant delays heading southbound around the summit of the Coquihalla and traffic has not moved in nearly an hour.
Despite that, there’s no official word that the highway is closed.
NowMedia will update this story as more information becomes available.
