After seeing a shirtless man in the middle of an intersection, the officers stopped him and eventually learned that he had a warrant out for his arrest.
“When the officers told him he was going to be arrested, the man began to fight with them,” explained a VPD release.
According to the VPD, the suspect allegedly tried to steal one of the officer’s guns during the arrest and bit them twice as well.
“An ambulance was called, as the suspect had symptoms of excited delirium,” the release explained. “One of the officers was treated in hospital after being bitten twice by the suspect.”
The suspect now faces possible charges of assaulting a peace officer and attempting to disarm.
