The BC SPCA has revealed the winners of this year’s Wildlife-In-Focus amateur photography competition.
Over 2,000 photographs were submitted for the 13th edition of the contest.
The charity said the quality of the images made it “tough work” for judges to select the winners.
There were two categories in the competition: Backyard Habitats and Wild Settings.
The public, meanwhile, was invited to decide the winner of the People’s Choice Award.
“With more than 2,092 photos submitted, it was a challenge for the contest judges to highlight only a few of the many amazing photos celebrating BC’s diverse wildlife,” said Erin Ryan of the BC SPCA.
“We want to thank all the participants for sharing their amazing photos and helping to raise more than $34,320 to help the BC SPCA’s Wild ARC care for injured and orphaned wildlife.”
The winning photographs chosen by the judges – as well as the top 25 most popular photographs chosen by voters – will be featured in a photobook, which will be available in October through the BC SPCA’s online store.
