Mount Revelstoke National Park has its first ever campground.
Snowforest Campground, which has 62 sites, will be open to adventurers from July 15.
Until 2021, however, it will be operating at about half capacity due to COVID-19.
It includes walk-in tent sites, spaces for RVs and three MicrOcubes.
The campground is a five-kilometre drive from downtown Revelstoke (or a 2 km walk), near the base of the Meadows in the Sky Parkway.
Reservations for Snowforest will be available through the Parks Canada system from July 7 at 8 am.
Parks Canada explained that Snowforest, which cost $6.1 million, is the first new campground in the mountain national parks since the 1960s.
It includes a new washroom and shower building complete with outdoor dishwashing stations, a campground operations centre for visitor services and a group campfire area for interpretive programs.
