BC train conductor rescues baby bobcat frozen to the tracks

A train conductor in Trail, BC came to the rescue of a baby bobcat earlier this week.

In a Facebook post, Cody Reid detailed how he saved the creature that found itself in a sticky situation.

"Saved this little guy today he was enjoying his breakfast (duck) and froze to the rail," said Reid in his caption.

"We got some warm water and freed him up."

The post has generated plenty of positive responses, having amassed over 400 reactions, 90 comments and 500 shares since Thursday afternoon.

Bobcats generally venture closer to civilization when heavy snowfall hits their normal habitats in the hills.

Venturing to lower elevation allows the animals to track down their natural prey of mice, rabbits, and in this case duck, with ease.

If you happen to see a bobcat, or any animal, in danger, you're asked to call the BC Conservation office RAPP line at 1-877-952-7277 (RAPP).
