BC reports 45 new COVID-19 cases, outbreak declared over at Royal Inland Hospital

British Columbia reports 45 new cases of COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.

There are currently 652 active cases in the province, for a total of 148,331 cases in the province since the pandemic began.

Of the new cases, 21 are being reported from Interior Health, 13 from Fraser Health, eight from Vancouver Coastal, two reported in the Island Health region, and one in Northern Health.

There are currently 60 people in hospital from COVID-19, with 12 of whom being in intensive care.

Interior Health has declared the COVID-19 outbreak at the Royal Inland Hospital officially over as they fully reopen their unit for admissions.

There have been no COVID-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours.

As of Friday, July 16, 3,686,611 of eligible people 12 and older in BC have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 2,310,888 received their second dose.

Of all eligible adults in BC 3,485,949 have received their first dose with 2,301,233 receiving their second shot.
