Building a refinery in BC was floated as a possible solution to the province’s soaring gas prices on Thursday.

When questioned about the possibility, Premier John Horgan said BC wants to transition away from fossil fuel dependence, but that transition should be aided by more refined product.
“Having 99% of our oil go to the United States doesn’t do anything for our environment,” said Trudeau to reporters.
“Putting the profits from the TMX into the green transition will do a lot for the environment.”
