More charges have been laid against the man accused of fatally stabbing a woman at the Lynn Valley Library in late March.
It happened around 1:40 pm on March 28 and the woman in her 20s who died was not the only victim, as six others were injured in the melee.
Yannick Bandaogo, 28, was arrested a short time later and charged with second-degree murder in the young woman’s death.
Today’s charges relate to the other six victims that were injured that day, as Bandaogo is now facing five counts of attempted murder and one count of aggravated asault.
“This was a tragic incident that has shaken all of us and we share the families and community’s grief and outrage,” said Detective Cpl. Sukhi Dhesi.
These additional charges are a result of the dedication and perseverance of the investigating officers and is a testament to the partnership IHIT has with the North Vancouver RCMP and the Lynn Valley community.”
