The BC Centre for Disease Control is warning residents over another massive batch of flights added to the COVID-19 exposure list.
According to the BC CDC, 22 more flights through the province had passengers aboard who tested positive for the virus. This included seven international flights as well as two trips to Kelowna.
On Dec. 28, Air Canada flight 1231 from Puerto Vallarta to Vancouver had an exposure between rows one and four. The next day, AeroMexico flight 696 from Mexico City to Vancouver had a positive test in rows three to 15.
Dec. 30 had just one exposure on Air Canada flight 116 from Vancouver to Toronto. Which row the carrier was sitting in is currently unknown.
New Year's Eve had another three positive tests. They occurred on Air Canada flight 107 from Toronto to Vancouver in rows three to seven, Air Canada/Jazz flight 8567 from Vancouver to Saskatoon between rows 22 and 28 and on Flair flight 8712 from Prince George to Vancouver in rows 13 to 19.
Jan. 1 had a single exposure on WestJet flight 711 from Toronto to Vancouver between rows 30 and 36. The next day, AeroMexico flight 696 from Mexico City to Vancouver found a carrier in rows 21 to 30.
On Jan. 3, four different Air Canada flights recorded cases across various rows. This included flight 106 from Vancouver to Toronto, flight 102 from Vancouver to Calgary, flight 228 from Vancouver to Calgary and flight 45 from Delhi to Vancouver.
Jan. 4 had five different exposures. These took place on Air Canada flight 221 from Calgary to Vancouver, Air Canada flight 555 from Los Angeles to Vancouver, Swoop Airlines flight 106 from Abbotsford to Hamilton, Swoop Airlines flight 410 from Toronto to Kelowna and WestJet flight 706 from Vancouver to Toronto.
The next four positive tests came on Jan. 5. The various exposures were on AeroMexico flight 696 from Mexico City to Vancouver, AeroMexico flight 694 from Mexico City to Vancouver, Air Canada flight 107 from Toronto to Vancouver and Air Canada flight 302 from Vancouver to Montreal.
Finally, the last confirmed cases of the virus were reported on Jan. 7. Air Canada flight 1125 from Toronto to Kelowna had a positive test between rows three and four as well as rows 12 to 16.
