Mounties in Prince George have issued a warning that they will be focusing on impaired drivers over the Christmas period.
It comes after a recent surge in collisions caused by people getting behind the wheel while under the influence of alcohol or other drugs.
"We recognize that the majority of the driving public do not drive while impaired, however the small portion that do, put everyone on the road at risk," Cpl Craig Douglass said.
"We will be looking to remove those persons from the road to make roads safer for the rest of us."
The RCMP added that it will be using a variety of tools to detect and arrest impaired drivers, including:
Screening devices
Physical coordination tests
Drug recognition experts
They also asked that anyone that sees an impaired person driving a car reports it by calling 9-1-1 immediately.
“Your actions could save a life,” police said.
