Police have issued a warning to the public after a “brazen assault” at an Okanagan park on Thursday afternoon.
A woman was “grabbed and assaulted” by an unknown man while walking her dog at Polson Park in Vernon, Mounties said.
It happened just after 4 pm.
The woman managed to break free from the man, who fled.
The man is still on the run.
“Frontline officers have secured the scene and are pursuing all avenues of the investigation to help identify the suspect,” said Cst. Kelly Brett.
“We are looking for any witnesses who may have been in the park at the time of the incident to come forward and speak with police.”
The RCMP provided the following description of the man:

The man might be injured, too, police said, because the victim’s dog bit him on his right arm.
“The victim in this incident, who sustained minor injuries, can be commended for her fighting mentality,” adds Brett.
