An infamous eyesoar off Highway 97 in Lake Country is officially off the market.
Listing agent Jeane McBride has confirmed to KelownaNow that a firm and binding offer is in place for $3.5 million.
The property was first listed in May 2019 at $8.1 million, but the asking price was dropped to $6.9 million last fall.
“It takes the right buyer when it comes to a property like this,” said McBride.
“I don’t know the buyer, but the realtor is from out of town and both parties were very professional and did their due diligence.”
It’s currently unclear what the future holds for the 5.58 acre site, which is currently zoned C-9 Tourist Commercial allowing for hotels, motels, campsites, amusement establishments, boat storage, food and liquor sales.
The business had developed quite a bad reputation over the past two decades, becoming a familiar stop for RCMP officers.
District of Lake Country officially ordered the business to close and boarded it up in the summer of 2019.
Later that fall, RCMP were called to investigate a suspicious fire on the property.
Officials said there were several people still living in the buildings at the time.
