A pair of jet-ski operators escaped with only one minor injury between them after a crash on Thursday.
The incident happened shortly before 3:30 pm on Wood Lake. around 40 feet away from the shore.
As emergency crews rushed to the scene, the jet-ski operators were helped by two unknown men aboard a boat.
Once authorities reached the scene, they detected signs of intoxication on one of the jet-ski operators and demanded a breath sample from the 37-year-old Edmonton man.
He was transported to the Kelowna RCMP detachment where he provided a pair of breath samples that were allegedly twice the legal limit.
The man now faces potential criminal charges and will appear in Kelowna Law Courts soon.
“RCMP are asking for any additional witnesses to come forward,” states Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey, spokesperson for the Kelowna RCMP.
