It's been a challenging year for aspiring young musicians.
With in-person recitals and live gigs still not permitted, the Wentworth Music Education Centre has had to pivot to pull off its annual tour-like rock concert involving hundreds of students.
“There were so many obstacles, we needed to keep the students safe and distanced from each other,” said vice president Noel Wentworth.
As a result, Wentworth hatched a plan to cut six days of rehearsal down to just two extra-long days during spring break.
He then hired a film company to do a three camera shoot in front of the empty seats at the Kelowna Community Theatre and the rest is history!
The concert is now available as a pay-per-view event on Wentworth's website and can be rented for $20 with the net proceeds being donated to the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation.
Since 2008, over $250,000 has been raised to support projects like JoeAnna’s House and Foundry as well as to help purchase essentials for the pediatrics department.
