The Southern Interior Construction Association (SICA) has partnered with the Construction Foundation of BC to create a fund for the children that lost family in the crane accident in Kelowna.
“We were deeply saddened to learn of the tragic crane accident in Kelowna on July 12. Our hearts are grieving for the families, friends, and co-workers of those victims of this terrible event” says Scott Wild, CEO of SICA.
“We know this has sent ripples across the entire country as we have had many colleagues in the industry reach out to us with compassion for, and solidarity with our community in grieving these losses,” says Wild.
SICA and the Construction Foundation of BC made it clear they do not want to take attention away from the current GoFundMe campaigns that have already been established, rather serve as an additional avenue and opportunity to create a fund that will cover the victims' children's education.
Donations will be managed by the Construction Foundation of BC and donations can be made on SICA’s website, all donors will receive a tax receipt. Alternatively, there are instructions on the website for donations made by cheque.
