Another B.C. music festival has bit the dust, at least for now.
On Friday, Center of Gravity announced there will be no festival in 2019, with the goal of returning in 2020 with a “fresh vision” and the “renewed support” of fans.
Hosted for the last 10 years in downtown Kelowna’s City Park, the festival has brought some of the biggest names in music to the shores of Okanagan Lake.
Over the years Snoop Dogg, Wu-Tang Clan, Steve Aoki, Skrillex and many more titans in the world of hip hop and EDM have performed.
However, the festival has at times had a contentious relationship with the people of Kelowna, with complaints of noise and belligerent behaviour being linked to the weekend.
Within minutes, nearly 50 comments had been posted to the announcement on Facebook, many of which expressed disappointment in the decision.
