Former Canucks goalie to have paintings displayed at Kelowna Art Gallery

Fans of the Vancouver Canucks in Kelowna will soon be able check out a series of paintings created by a former goalie for the team.

Richard Brodeur, who stood between the pipes for the Canucks for eight seasons in the 80s, is set to have his art featured at the Kelowna Art Gallery.

The exhibit, entitled Storytellers, will also feature the work of Danielle Krysa and Jude Clarke and run from Nov. 28 to Jan 31.

"The exhibition centres around the idea that we are all storytellers encountering narratives all the time, whether that be in books, newspapers, conversations, online media outlets or on social media," reads the press release.

"Despite these many overlapping stories that compete for attention in our daily lives, it is our own inner narrative that is our most compelling means of communication. It is the product of this subconscious landscape, which will be represented visually in Storytellers."

Based in Summerland, Krysa is a world-renowned author, illustrator, and artist who's likely best known for her wildly popular contemporary art site The Jealous Curator.

While Clarke is an artist, educator, and author living in Vernon, her work has been shown in galleries in the Okanagan, Lower Mainland and Strasbourg.

As for Richard, better known as "King Richard" to fans, the former All-Star now lives and works on his paintings in Kelowna.
