Flair Airlines has announced a return to Kelowna.
The budget carrier said Winnipeg will also be returning to its summer schedule.
A planned expansion into Ottawa and Atlantic Canada (including Halifax, Saint John and Charlottetown), however, is being delayed due to the COVID-19 crisis.
The airline’s current destinations include Toronto, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver.
For customers who bought tickets for flights to Ottawa and the east coast, full refunds will be available, the firm said.
“Due to the current provincial travel restrictions and quarantine requirements, we feel this is the best balance right now for both the provinces, and for Flair as a business,” said John Mullins, a vice president at the airline.
“Safety comes first for Flair and our customers are our priority.”
The airline said it plans to go through with the expansion to Ottawa and Atlantic Canada and stressed that the delay is only “temporary.”
“We will be there for Ottawa and Atlantic Canada as soon as everyone is ready for our arrival,” Mullins explained.
