A&W recently gave out free coffee for all of January to let customers taste their new coffee.
The fast-food chain’s coffee will once again be free in March for anyone who wants to help A&W test its new ‘Sipscription’ service.
The idea behind the new coffee subscription is that people will be able to pay a set monthly fee to enjoy unlimited coffee from A&W locations across Canada.
For now, however, there’s no fee, as the service will be tested in March and the company will then evaluate whether they want to move forward with the idea in the future.
If you’re thinking that this is like many free trials where your credit card starts getting charged immediately after the trial expires, that’s not the case.
“The test is only running for the month of March 2021, and your free subscription is only active for that length of time,” explains the A&W website.
“Don’t worry — if the program is launched nationally, you won’t be charged unless you sign up again to be a paid subscriber.”
There will be a limit of one free coffee per transaction, but there’s no limit to the number of transactions you can make, which means you can take advantage multiple times a day.
Unfortunately for decaf and tea drinkers, the subscription program is only available for regular coffee, but the chain does appreciate the feedback that people want the program for other hot beverages.
You’ll also need the A&W app to take part in the trial, and potentially one day be a paid subscriber, as it will run through the app and only work on orders made through it.

You have to sign up before Thursday, Feb. 25 if you want to take part in the trial.
