Daily schedule released for Rock the Lake 2019

Set aside those January blues because news from Rock the Lake is here! The weekend-long festival, filled to the brim with rock legends, has announced the schedule for its fourth year.

The 2019 festival is cranking things up to 11 with a stacked roster of legendary acts who will grace the RTL stage for the first time ever, and a handful of veterans who have already melted your faces before.

Whether you’ve been waiting to see what day caters most to your taste, or have been clutching your weekend pass since tickets were unleashed at last year's festival, now is the time to get ready to rock!

Friday, August 9

Your weekend of rock-induced nostalgia will kick off with Canadian guitar legend, Pat Travers, at 6 p.m. Geting you “Hooked on Music” by diving headfirst into the best of 70s rock.

Up next comes RTL alumni, Honeymoon Suite at 7:15 p.m. to get you “Burning In Love.” If their performance is anything close to that of their 2017 RTL debut, you can expect everything from rip-roaring solos, to a crowd-curated set list that you won’t want to stop singing along with.

Bringing things home on day one is none other than blues-influenced rocker, David Wilcox. Known for his ability to muster up a party out of thin air, Wilcox will have us all joining in on his “Riverboat Fantasy.”

Saturday, August 10

The first act up at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday is one that brings us both excitement and heartache.

Streetheart is set to return to Rock the Lake only this time, without the beloved Kenny Shields. Touring as a means to keep Shields’ legacy alive, the band, now fronted by Paul McNair, is sure to deliver one heavenly performance.

Detroit new wave act, The Romantics, will take the stage at 5 p.m. and are sure to deliver a “One In A Million” performance.

By 6:40 p.m. it will be time to welcome B.C.’s own, 54-40! The alt-rockers are joining in on RTL for the first time.

Closing out day two is none other than Canadian music legend, Tom Cochrane and Red Rider. No stranger to Prospera Place, Cochrane and his Red Rider comrades dazzled Okanagan fans just two short years ago. If that show was any indication of what we can expect at RTL, well, we are sure in for a sweet treat.

Sunday, August 11.

Prism is back to take us to the kaptin with their interstellar sound at 3:30 p.m. And, the newly revamped hard rock group The Headpins, will make you feel like dancing all over again at 5 p.m. fronted by Kelowna’s own Kat Lawrence.

Rock the Lake’s final day is always the hardest, both emotionally and musically. Often some of the heaviest bands on the bill are saved for day three, and 2019 will be no exception, as heavy metal titans Quiet Riot will hit the stage at 6:40 p.m.

Founded by the universally adored guitarist, Randy Rhodes, Quiet Riot has boasted the talents of some of heavy metal’s most talented musicians. The most current line up may not include any of the original members, but Okanagan fans will have the chance to see drummer, Frankie Banali.

Returning to close out the third and final day of Rock the Lake, just as they did in 2016, will be Trooper. Sure to “Raise a Little Hell,” a Trooper show never features a dull moment.

From impressive vocals and musicianship to radiating energy, these guys surely create a good time even if they aren't around for a long time.
