Interior Health is warning residents after another batch of COVID-19 exposures were reported at schools in the Interior.
According to IH, six more schools in the region confirmed cases of the virus over the last two days. This included schools in West Kelowna, the Shuswap, Williams Lake, Barriere and more.
The newest Okanagan school to have a case was Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Elementary School, which saw exposures occur on Jan. 7 and 8. Parkview Elementary in Sicamous had an exposure on Jan. 6 while South Canoe Elementary in Salmon Arm confirmed cases on Jan. 6, 7 and 8.
In the Williams Lake area, Lake City Secondary's Columneetza Campus had potential exposures on Jan. 6 and 7. Horsefly Elementary confirmed a case on Monday.
Barriere Secondary was the final school to report exposures. Its positive cases were identified on Jan. 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.
At this point, the members of the communities are self-isolating and working with local public health teams. Contact tracing has begun and those at high risk of contracting the virus will be called.
