Men arrested after Molotov cocktails reportedly thrown into Revelstoke home

Two men have been arrested after Molotov cocktails were reportedly thrown into a home in Revelstoke.

The RCMP is calling it a “brazen early morning arson” that “could have turned tragic.”

It happened just before 3 am this morning at a home around the 1100 block of 4 Street East.

A resident of the home succeeded in extinguishing the flames before they were able to spread.

“Our frontline RCMP officers responded to the scene and gathered evidence,” said Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey.

“As a result of the investigation and police tactics used, two men were taken into police custody without incident, after they allegedly returned to the arson scene approximately an hour later.”

Both men are from Revelstoke, with one aged 36 and the other 34.

They remain in custody and could face charges.

Mounties continue to investigate.

Anyone with any additional information is asked to contact the Revelstoke RCMP at 250-837-5255.
