Parts of Alberta awoke to a fresh layer of snow Wednesday morning and the moans and groans were almost audible in B.C.

The western province is infamous for its frigid winters and Autumn snowfalls, however, many would agree that nearly 10 cm of snow during the summer is an anomaly.
Environment Canada had issued public weather alerts on Tuesday for Grande Prairie and its surrounding areas, warning of up to 10 to 15 cm of snow overnight.
Other snowfall warnings included for Jasper National Park, Slave Lake, and Hinton, while special weather statements were called for nine other regions.
A cold front slumping into Northern Alberta is to blame for the sudden snow, bringing cold temperatures and precipitation that changed to snow as temperatures dropped.
Parts of Eastern B.C. could see snow at higher elevation as the cold weather system creeps across the provincial border later in the week.
