An oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman is on fire after what Iranian media is reporting to be an attack. The US Navy’s Fifth Fleet says it’s aware of “the reported attack” and it has ships in the area rendering assistance. Shipping routes through the straight carry 40% of all sea-borne oil supplied each year to the global economy.

The Constitutional Court in Ecuador made a historical decision on Wednesday. A vote to legalize same-sex marriage ended 5-4 in favour, which means same-sex couples will soon be tying the knot in the South American nation. Fittingly, the decision comes during Pride Month.

The St. Louis Blues didn’t only win the Stanley Cup on Wednesday, they also made Scott Berry $100,000 richer. When the Blues were last in the NHL in January, Berry put $400 on his favourite team to win it all with odds of 250-1. As unlikely as it seemed at the time, St. Louis went on an incredible five-month run and Berry won $100,000.

Harry Potter fans will want to get to Universal Orlando Resort as soon as possible. The theme park opened up its newest ride, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, and there were a few special guests on hand for the opening. Rupert Grint, Tom Felton and other actors from the movies were all there for the big day.

Lion Country Safari in Florida has been mourning the loss of two giraffes after a freak accident in May. The park confirmed this week that two giraffes were killed when they were struck by lightning last month. Their deaths were instantaneous and the incident was described as ‘billion-to-one’.
