President-elect Joe Biden will reverse President Trump's travel bans, rejoin the Paris climate accord and mandate the wearing of masks on federal property when he takes power on Wednesday, it has been reported. He is also expected to extend nationwide restrictions on evictions and foreclosures due to COVID-19 and change policy on illegal immigration.

3. Poisoned Putin critic arrested after returning to Russia

Vladimir Putin's most famous critic has returned to Russia after being poisoned with Novichok last year. Putin's government has denied poisoning Navalny, despite strong evidence to the contrary.

4. Tennis stars will get 'no special treatment' in Australia, premier says

The premier of the Australian state of Victoria has said tennis players will be given "no special treatment" as they quarantine after arriving in the country for the Australian Open. 5. Migrant caravan heading to US urged to turn back by Biden team

Several thousand migrants heading to the US from Central America have been told not to make the journey by the incoming Biden administration. They are in part motivated by President-elect Biden's commitment to loosen the US's border and migration policies.
