Passenger who landed at Vancouver International Airport becomes 27th measles case in BC this year

The 27th case of measles in British Columbia this year has been diagnosed.

Health officials said the infection was acquired abroad.

They are now warning the public that they could have been exposed to the virus if they were in the same locations as the infected person.

Those locations are:

  • International Terminal at Vancouver International Airport between 10:25 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on April 13

  • Japan Airlines flight JL018 from Tokyo to Vancouver on April 13

  • Ramada by Wyndham, 631 Lougheed Highway in Coquitlam on April 14

  • Sun Star Restaurant between 8:30 a.m. and noon on April 14

  • Lougheed Town Centre, 9855 Austin Ave, Burnaby between 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on April 14

Health officials said anyone who was at those locations at those times should review their immunization history and watch out for signs of measles.

The province is urging those who are not vaccinated or who are under-vaccinated to act now.
