Will Arnett, Mark Messier and more to be added to Canada’s Walk of Fame

Seven individuals and a band will be added to Canada’s Walk of Fame this fall.

The 2019 inductees were announced on Thursday and they include some of the country’s most recognizable names.

That includes actor Will Arnett, hockey player Mark Messier, Olympian Cindy Klassen, TV’s Mr. Dressup, businessman Jim Treliving, the creator of basketball James Naismith, the band Triumph and architect Frank Gehry.

“Canada’s Walk of Fame is a symbol of the highest level of Canadian achievement,” said Jeffrey Latimer, CEO of Canada’s Walk of Fame.

“We are fortunate to live in a country that is home to so many diverse and incredible people, and we must tell their stories to truly inspire all Canadians.”

All eight inductees will be officially added to the Walk and honoured during an awards show in Toronto on Nov. 23, 2019.

They’ll be the 21st group of inductees to be added to Canada’s Walk of Fame since it was created in 1998.
