VIDEO: BC musician Dan Mangan performs on Jimmy Kimmel Live

For Dan Mangan, the international exposure is invaluable.

The 35-year-old Vancouver-based musician appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday night and played a pair of songs from his most recent album, More or Less.

After an introduction from Kimmel, the lights went up on Dan Mangan and his band who started with “Troubled Mind,” the lead single from More or Less.

It was a fitting song choice for American late night television, as many believe the song was partially inspired by the current political landscape in the United States.

In a press release when the song was released, Mangan said it was about “the struggle to maintain any kind of mental equilibrium in the day-to-day as we're bombarded with the woes of the world."

After finishing “Troubled Mind,” Mangan and company slowed it down and played "Just Fear," a beautiful tune that has a similar theme.

Mangan says the song is about raising kids in a turbulent world and it was written shortly after Donald Trump was elected.

After touring Canada in early 2019, Mangan just returned from touring Europe and will play a show in Seattle on May 2.

His next B.C. show is the Burnaby Blues Festival on Aug. 10 at Deer Lake Park.
