Another day, another 48 temperature records broken across BC

It’s been a record-breaking week in British Columbia.

After 32 temperature records were broken on Monday, 42 were erased on Tuesday and that number somehow got even higher on Wednesday.

Another 48 temperature records were broken on Wednesday as a March heatwave continued across B.C.

Once again, there was a tie for B.C.’s hot spot as Squamish and Hope both capped out at 25.9°C.

There were some historic records broken as well, as 13 of the records broken had been standing for over a century.

That includes, once again, the Victoria Harbour area, which beat the old record set in 1878 (14.4°C) by nearly 6°C.

Here’s a full list of all 48 temperature records set on Wednesday:

  • Abbotsford: 24.7°C (Old record 22.2°C, set in 1960)
  • Atlin: 14.0°C (Old record 9.0°C, set in 2016)
  • Agassiz: 25.8°C (Old record 21.7°C, set in 1915)
  • Bella Coola: 23.1°C (Old record 21.5°C, set in 1986)
  • Blue River: 17.7°C (Old record 14.1°C, set in 2010)
  • Burns Lake: 17.1°C (Old record 14.2°C, set in 1999)
  • Campbell River: 21.6°C (Old record 17.1°C, set in 1979)
  • Cassiar: 12.7°C (Old record 5.0°C, set in 1968)
  • Chetwynd: 17.5°C (Old record 17.2°C, set in 1986)
  • Chilliwack: 25.1°C (Old record 23.9°C, set in 1915)
  • Clearwater: 19.4°C (Old record 18.3°C, set in 1915)
  • Clinton: 16.4°C (Old record 9.9°C, set in 2003)
  • Comox: 19.6°C (Old record 15.8°C, set in 1986)
  • Dease Lake: 14.6°C (Old record 10.0°C, set in 1998)
  • Esquimalt: 21.0°C (Old record 20.0°C, set in 1914)
  • Estevan Point: 15.7°C (Old record 14.0°C, set in 1986)
  • Fort Nelson: 17.3°C (Old record 16.7°C, set in 1947)
  • Fort St. John: 13.7°C (Old record 13.3°C, set in 1910)
