Rockets alumni Jesse Shultz takes home MVP honours

Former Kelowna Rocket Jesse Shultz has been recognized as the Most Valuable Player in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) for the 2018-2019 season.

Schultz led the ECHL in scoring with 80 points (22G, 58A), he also led the league in assists. Last week he was named to the All-ECHL First Team.

Now a member of the Cincinnati Cyclones, the Strasbourg, Sask. product played for Kelowna during the 2001/2002 and 2002/2003 campaigns.

During that time he had 168 points (81G, 87A) in 145 regular season games and 40 (17G, 23A) points in 24 playoff games.

A fan favourite, Shultz helped the Rockets capture the WHL Championship, while leading the team in scoring with 104 points.

Shultz will help lead his Cyclones in their first playoff series tonight against the Kalamazoo Wings.
