UPDATE: Highway 3A now open to single lane alternating traffic after mudslide

Highway 3A has now been reopened to single lane alternating traffic 18 kilometres east of Keremeos.

The highway was completely closed at Yellow Lake due to a mudslide on Friday.

Highway 3A remains closed at Yellow Lake after a mudslide on Friday.

Crews are currently working on cleaning up the debris to reopen the highway, but there is still no estimated time for opening.

Drive BC is offering Highway 3 and Highway 97 as alternative routes. The mudslide occurred about 18.5 kilometres east of Keremeos.

The next update on progress is expected tomorrow afternoon.
