PHOTOS: These two sleepy grizzlies have emerged from their den and they’re adorable

Grouse Mountain’s two resident grizzly bears, Grinder and Coola, have emerged from hibernation, and they couldn’t look happier about it.

The pair were greeted by a beautiful spring morning yesterday after their 17th hibernation at Grouse Mountain Refuge for Endangered Animals.

Grinder and Coola’s habitat will be strategically expanded over the next while, emulating the experience in the wild, where Grizzly bears gradually increase their footprint within a territory.

The now 17-year-old grizzly bears, Grinder and Coola originally came to Grouse Mountain’s Refuge for Endangered Wildlife in 2001 after being orphaned during separate incidents in Bella Coola and Invermere.

If only we could be this excited to wake up every morning!
