Penticton’s first water restrictions of the year are coming into effect this week.
A news release from the city says stage one restrictions, which are meant to ensure the city has ongoing access to drinking and irrigation water, go into effect May 1.
They will run until the end of August.
Under those restrictions, odd-number addresses are allowed to irrigate on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Even numbered addresses can irrigate on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
No watering is allowed on Monday.
People living in townhouses or condos are reminded to follow their street address, not their unit number.
Anyone with an automatic system is reminded to only water between midnight and 6 am.
Those with manual irrigation systems are allowed to water between 6-10 am or 6-10 pm.
The city says residents can visit this link for more information about water restrictions and conservation.
