One of British Columbia’s most popular restaurants has hopped on the Beyond Meat train.
White Spot's newest creation, an Avocado Beyond Burger, will be available at locations around the province starting today.
The tasty-looking burger has a 100% plant-based Beyond Meat patty, along with fresh avocado, pickled onions, roasted corn, lettuce and tomato.
Rather than your typical Triple O sauce, or mayo or ketchup, the has jalapeño ranch and edamame hummus on it.
Not only has this new, innovative burger joined the White Spot menu, but Beyond Meat patties have become a larger part of the chain’s arsenal.
You’ll now be able to sub a plant-based Beyond Meat burger into any White Spot burger for just $1.99.
White Spot is following in the footsteps of another popular Canadian chain, A&W, that introduced their version of a Beyond Meat burger to the menu last summer.
It was so popular that A&W ran out of their supply within weeks and the fast-food restaurant had to put the offering in hold until they restocked.
The burger returned to A&W menus in October and has been joined by a Beyond Meat breakfast sandwich featuring 100% plant-based sausage patty.
