Okanagan band set to play in major Vancouver and Seattle music festivals

A Vernon band is starting to hit it big and you don’t need much more proof than their busy early September schedule.

The band is daysormay, a five-piece alternative group from Vernon that features Nolan Bassett, Eli Garlick, Carson Bassett, Craig Matterson and Aidan Andrews.

Their infectious sound and impressive songwriting ability has started to put them on the map in the alternative rock music scene.

So much so, that they’re on the bill for a pair of major music festivals coming up in September.

You can catch the band at Seattle’s Bumbershoot Festival on Sunday, Sept. 2, then at Vancouver’s Skookum Festival the very next weekend on Sunday, Sept. 9.

Surrounding those two dates, they’ll be joining popular American band Cold War Kids for four tour dates.

“We make music as a way to let go of things,” says the band’s website. “Those things that you pick up during the day and forget about, only to find that they’re still there when you turn the lights out at night.”

“As dismal as this sounds, it’s what keeps us moving, creating, staying alive. We hope it does the same for you.”

As their fanbase continues to grow, it’s certainly doing just that for a lot of people.

There’s no doubt that the reach this young band has will expand even further after they take the stage at Bumbershoot and Skookum next month.
