Countdown is on to Brothers Osborne concert Friday night at SOEC

The countdown is on for country music fans waiting for Friday night’s concert by the award-winning American band Brothers Osborne at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

And it's still not too late to get your tickets if you want to attend a concert by one of the hottest country music acts in the business.

The two-time Country Music Association (CMA) and Academy of Country Music (ACM) Vocal Duo of the Year, Brothers Osborne, are coming to Penticton as part of an extended Canadian tour this fall.

The duo recently released their sophomore album, Port Saint Joe, on April 20 on Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company.

The first single off the project, Shoot Me Straight, was released on January 8 and was produced by Jay Joyce, who has produced work by country music superstars Eric Church and Little Big Town.

Little Big Town will be performing at the SOEC on March 1, 2019. Tickets for the show, which features opening acts Midland and Ashley McBryde, went on sale last week.

John and TJ Osborne co-wrote every track on Port Saint Joe, along with frequent collaborators Lee Thomas Miller, Kendall Marvel, Barry Dean, Shane McAnally, and Troy Verges.

The title, Port Saint Joe, reflects the small town on the Florida coast where the siblings recorded the album.

Two sons from a working-class family, John and TJ Osborne grew up in a small, Maryland town writing and playing songs for friends and family in their father’s shed.

John moved to Nashville first to play in other bands and two years later, TJ joined him.

It was then they formed Brothers Osborne as a “twang-and-crunch” duo that blends equal parts country and rock into one of the freshest, most identifiable sounds to come out of Nashville in recent years.

The singer/songwriter siblings recently won CMA Vocal Duo of the Year for the second year in a row, in addition to Music Video of the Year for their Top 10, three-time Grammy-nominated single It Ain’t My Fault.

They also stand as the reigning ACM Vocal Duo of the Year and New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year.
