One of the best viral moments of 2018 has come to a satisfying conclusion.
In October, Blackpool Police in the United Kingdom posted a security footage screenshot of a theft suspect to their Facebook account.

It didn’t take long for the internet to realize the man looked exactly David Schwimmer, AKA Ross Geller, one of the six stars of the hit 90s sitcom Friends.
Replies to the tweet came flooding in from all over the world and it got so big that even Schwimmer took notice and played along.
The actor posted a video to his own Twitter account that showed him in a very similar situation to the thief, but in a New York grocery store.
Officers, I swear it wasn't me.

As you can see, I was in New York.

“Officers, I swear it wasn’t me,” he wrote. “As you can see, I was in New York. To the hardworking Blackpool Police, good luck with the investigation.”
His response made the already viral incident spread even more and it’s now helped the U.K. authorities bring the wanted man into custody.
