Fitness studio to move after multiple noise complaints from Canadian rock legend

Canadian icon Burton Cummings made a name for himself by playing some of the loudest rock n roll on earth as part of The Guess Who.

However, in an ironic twist of fate, the rock star has headlines for filing multiple noise complaints against a fitness studio in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.

Kyra Klassen, who owns Dance Fitness in downtown Moose Jaw, says she’s ready for a fresh start and the studio is changing locations May 1.

The dance studio moved into a building neighbouring The Guess Who singer last April in an area with mixed-used buildings.

The landlord has also conducted sound tests, which show a peak volume of 74 decibels — about the same sound as running a vacuum cleaner.

According to Klassen, Cummings has called police several times and she is now facing six noise bylaw charges.

A manager for Cummings declined to comment on the situation.
