The human race is divided on so many issues, but apparently it can come together to like a photo of an egg on Instagram.
On Jan. 4, 2019, the @world_record_egg Instagram account was created and it posted a single photo.
The photo is just a brown egg with a white background and it came with one simple request.
“Let’s set a world record together and get the most liked post on Instagram,” said the photo’s caption. “Beating the current world record held by Kylie Jenner (18 million)! We got this.”
Who knows what the expectations were, but whoever’s behind the account couldn’t have predicted how big the response would be.
Just 10 days later, the egg has shattered Jenner’s record and it’s not even close anymore.
Less than 24 hours after setting the record, the photo of the egg has now surpassed 30-million likes and it’s showing no signs of slowing down.
Not only does the photo have around 30-million likes, but the account has also accumulated 3.4-million followers, which can easily be monetized by whoever created it.
Jenner originally set the world record for most likes on an Instagram post with a photo of her daughter, Stormi, on Feb. 6, 2018.
