1. The Queen’s last remaining corgi, Willow, has died

The Queen’s last remaining corgi, Willow, has sadly passed away. Her beloved pet was put down at Windsor Castle on Sunday after suffering from cancer. The Queen has owned the breed since 1944. The monarch is now left with two crossbreeds, dorgis, a dachshund-corgi mix.

2. California community calls for help after being overrun by tumbleweeds

A small community northeast of Los Angeles is being overwhelmed by tumbleweeds after severe winds hit the area. Crews are busy clearing the tumbleweeds from homes and public spaces, in addition to having to clear downed trees.

3. A dying 700-year-old tree is on an IV drip

The world's second largest banyan tree in Telangana, India, is on a saline drip in an effort to kill a termite population that has infested it. The 700-year-old tree is a popular destination for tourists.

4. Steve Irwin will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Steve Irwin, also known as the Crocodile Hunter is set to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame 11 years after his tragic death. His wife Terri, and his two children, Bindi and Robert, will attend the ceremony on April 26. His daughter Bindi, who has followed in his footsteps, made the announcement on Twitter.

5. Footage of a bear performing tricks at a Russian soccer match sparks outrage

Animal rights groups are condemning the use of a bear that performed at a third-division Russian league match over the weekend. The bear was led onto Mashuk-KMV's stadium in Pyatigorsk, where he stood on his hind legs and clapped towards the crowd before kick-off.
