Datsik, a popular dubstep DJ from Kelowna, now has multiple sexual assault allegations against him.
Datsik, or Troy Beetles, released a statement on his official Facebook page today responding to the allegations made against him. He also posted a statement on his Instagram story.
He writes that the last 24 hours have been “a whirlwind of emotion and reflection,” and as a result of the allegations against him, he is cancelling any future tour dates and pulling out of all upcoming festivals.
Firepower Records, which was founded by Datsik, announced that the artist has “stepped down” and will no longer have an active role within the label. All operations and creative direction is to be taken over by co-owner and label manager, Sharra Grace. Datsik has also been removed from Deckstar’s roster.
“Firepower does not tolerate sexual assault under any circumstances and we are utterly devastated by these statements that have come to light,” reads the statement from Firepower Records. “This label was started as a platform for new artists to be able to showcase their music and as a community where we can support one another in the dance space. Safety and equality are at the core of our values, and we truly hope that we can continue to provide a positive environment for all our fans.”

Datsik is currently on his Ninja Nation Tour with Space Jesus, who pulled himself off the docket after the allegations came to light.
He has issued two statements regarding the issue. His first statement announces his departure from the tour indefinitely, saying that consent is an “extremely important subject that must not be taken lightly.”
